Does it cost to get involved with SPEAK?

How is the theme chosen?

Students in Columbia area high schools complete a survey regarding current issues that concern them. The SPEAK executive board examines the top three topics and makes the final decision.

How are the mentors chosen?

Each season SPEAK sends mentor applications to college students who are interested. The SPEAK executive board reviews their applications and evaluates potential mentors through an interview process.

What if I’ve never acted?

Does SPEAK offer services beyond the bi-weekly workshops?

How does SPEAK keep swimming in unfortunate economic times?

No experience is necessary! SPEAK’s goal is to teach both mentors and mentees to own the voice they do have.

Yes, SPEAK leads workshops and class discussions in the various high schools of Columbia.
