SPEAK SATURDAY: Viola Davis Sends a Message to Hollywood
Although the 2015 Emmy Awards aired last weekend, there's still plenty to celebrate - especially Viola Davis' acceptance speech.
While making history as the first African-American star to win outstanding lead actress in a drama series for her role as Annalise Keating (How to Get Away with Murder), Davis sent a message to hollywood stating:
"The only thing that separates women of color from anyone else is opportunity...You cannot win an Emmy for roles that are simply not there."
Support for the Black pioneer flooded timelines on social media, and despite brief backlash her achievement inspired thousands to keep dreaming big!
